I REALLY WANT TO SEE YOU MY LORD, SWEET SWEET LORD - A MEDITATIVE EXPLORATION

Today’s mediation arose in me a an hour or so ago, as i took out a tape recorder to bring here. Testing it at home, it had a cd in it – a song we have used some years ago in meditations: “I really want to see you, i really want to know you, i really want to be with you dear Lord ... sweet sweet Lord”  And even as I  briefly heard it... something clicked within me...the subtle but all important  shift from the yearning and striving  we experienced to a certain fullfmment and inner rest ...so we are going to go with this....and let’s see how it plays out.

Song is played: “I really want to see you, i really want to know you, i really want to be with you dear Lord ... sweet sweet Lord... yeah... takes so long...” This song is played, and we have used it before some years ago in our meditation and felt the pure bhakti and yearning energy of the beautiful song of devotion. Today I replay it so we may become aware of a subtle difference, even whilst we enjoy this beautiful song ...

So yes feel the yearning...as we used to. And then move into Awareness, move from self to Self, personal to impersonal consciousness, - call this state whatever you may.  And as you abide here and allow the same song, the same words to be heard, become aware of the difference in its energy... from yearning to a marked degree of fulfilment; from seeking to a state of inner rest.

“I really want to see you, i really want to know you, i really want to be with you dear Lord ... sweet sweet Lord... yeah... takes so long...”

-          Now as you abide as Awareness, become aware of yourself seeing The Lord-God/Self.  This seeing is not like seeing physical objects, but when you ‘see’ how much someone loves you; or when you see the deeper truths of life - it is as or more of a  clear  seeing than just seeing physical objects surely...

-         Now as you abide as Awareness, become aware how you know The Lord... God/Self; it’s the difference between being explained what a juicy sweet peach is and actually tasting touching –directly enjoying the fruit - and thereby become aware of this more direct knowing...

-        Now as you abide as Awareness, become aware how you are... one with The Lord... God/Self.  It’s like the fish asking each other when will we see the ocean, but you are now aware you are in/one with the ocean...that never can you... be... without the ocean . So come beloved become aware of the ever presence The Lord... God/Self.

-        Now as you abide as Awareness, become aware how in this seeing, knowing, being with the Lord/God/Self, time loses its essence... ‘how long it’s taken’ loses its essence -  just like after having reached some goal  you  often look back and wonder where time has flown, how quickly it just happened !

I really wanna see you, know you be with you dear lord takes so long...so yes the ever beautiful song and its energy...and yet a difference when we hear it...be aware of that...

-        Come beloveds as you abide as Awareness become aware of yourself seeing The Lord... God/Self.  Go beyond the words... see The Lord... God/Self... you may view a soft glow, you may view whatever you do... the world and its things...  but you will abide in the certainty that you are seeing The Lord... God/Self. (Sit in this Silence). 

So no matter how much others may debate, you abide in the certainty of this inner vision... come beloveds rest your eyes in this vision. Yes if asked to describe The Lord/God/Self you may have no words nor images nothing indeed to share ––at the most you may utter forth... i have seen ... I see...  come and rest your seeking eyes silently  into God vision with me...

-        Come beloveds as you abide as Awareness become aware of yourself knowing The Lord... God/Self. Feel this knowing, feel the sum with every fibre of your being.    - (Sit in this Silence)

-        Come beloveds as you abide as Awareness become aware of yourself being/with The Lord... God/Self; feel this ‘embrace’ ...beyond physicality... yet as real and tangible as any physical presence. (Sit in this Silence). 

Become aware of the awareness that you never not one with the Lord...  that  even when you may consciously not be aware, you are subconsciously aware of being one always , and in this awareness, even when you are only subconsciously aware , the oneness with The lord is  ever present, indeed any feeling of separation isn’t. Yes if asked you will be not be able to show another this ever present oneness/presence... there will be nothing or nowhere to point - at the most will you say I Am... I Am... (One with) The Lord God/Self ... come dissolve any sense of separation any yearning... in T/His presence with me...

-        Come beloveds as you abide as Awareness become aware of timelessness... of the very absence of time long or short...  of the futility of concerns over how long or not. Become aware of the awareness that it matters not, there is only the Now. And now I am seeing, knowing being with the Lord. Yes if asked you will be not be able to tell another when it happened, was it always there, is it still to happen....none of this will feel relevant! At the most you will say come join me Now ... (Sit in this Silence).

-         See the Lord/God/Self /Master ... not through the eyes... but it’s happening through the sixth chakra ( Sit in this silence)

-         Know the Lord/God/Self /Master ... not through knowledge ... feel it in the heart and sacral chakra...  ( Sit in this silence)

-         Feel being with Lord/God/Self /Master .... through every chakric point ... ( Sit in this silence)

-         Feel the timelessness .... through the crown chakra.... ( Sit in this silence)

So yes beloveds, abiding in awareness bring to you many gifts, it’s not merely an spiritual ‘practice’... be aware how it:

-          It helps strengthen the presence of  Self and thereby loosen the sense of self

-         It helps one straddle ones humanity and divinity

-         It helps live daily life by living in  increasing equanimity; and spiritually it helps move away from the frustration, lack and yearning of some future merger/liberation

-        What does this shift mean – it’s very important subtle as it might be – because in that yearning/seeking for some future merger is a) time  - and focus on the future - thus not abiding in the Now b) and in that seeking is the seeker, the self....and as long as self is there liberation  can’t happen as liberation is from the self not for the self

-         And thus as we abide as awareness, as we abide in a state of seeing, being, knowing God... the seeker becomes the sought! The seeker becomes the sought...! So the seeker dissolves, even as the seeking continues; for now you abide in this awareness of the sought seeking Itself...!  ( Sit in this silence)

-        In this, in this shift from seeker to the Sought, a deep deep surrender happens, acceptance of whatever (the journey) is, non resistance to what isn’t...effortlessness, even whilst the body mind does whatever is done through it....  ( Sit in this silence)

So seeing/knowing/being with God self... ! ‘That’...which has always been out there somewhere becomes the experiential here and now: Ah this! And automatically ‘this’ (put your own name here) notion becomes oh that... the fading of ego notion, abiding firmer as the Lords presence...

Ah to the paradoxical cosmic mating dance! To the simultaneous human yearning and divine fulfillment; fulfilled even as we yearn and yearning even in fulfillment; seeking union even whilst enjoying the cosmic foreplay; the Shakti in me seducing the Shiva in me; the Shiva in me stretching it that wee bit longer…Ah to the Now.

And so our chants return, and you will ‘see/know/be one with’ how these chants have played a role:

Om namah Babaji Namah – The entry point to see ... God/Lord/Master/Self...

Om Tare tu Tare tu re swaha – The path that healed us know ... ... God/Lord/Master/Self...

Om namah Shivya – Abiding as Shiva...pure awareness...as  ... God/Lord/Master/Self...

Om Tat Sat – Silence, beyond the words in the Now....
