In prayer we communicate, commune , get in touch , become one with... open our self to... our higher aspects - call it God or Divine Self.
Thus what we actually do is expand our energy field from personal to Universal Self and allow its higher, finer, deeper consciousness to permeate us.
We are what our consciousness is.
and thus through prayer, through connecting with higher aspects of Self we seed into our consciousness Its higher and finer frequencies
What we focus on we become.
and thus through our attention to Divine aspects of Self we give our divine nature the life force of our focus
What a wondrous tool
for even as we 'petition' a higher force to fulfill our desires its actually higher aspects of Self transferring to us, to enable us towards fulfilling the same!
