WHY DOES GOD BECOME CREATION? IS GOD BORED? FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

One of my earliest writings- written in response to questions from fellow travelers! Of course this understanding has evolved and refined over the years, and yet I share this writing with you, as it expresses the very beginning of  my journey and some of you may resonate to it!

Why does All That Is – God – enter creation? Why does God go through this ‘process’ of creation?

The ‘process’ we call creation is what GOD IS! God is thus not going through some process but is the process! god is not a noun but a verb!. What we perceive god… ‘doing’… is what god is! we get confused as we try and distinguish between the noun and the verb! God means: ‘all that is’ eternally and infinitely being (itself). Being  - means this cycle of self awareness, experience, expansion and fulfillment (which we consider as a journey separate from it). God has already reached its desired destination even when its starting out and in the middle! All bets are covered!! if we keep ourselves open we will view this subjectively in many little ways, which will add to our ‘learned’ knowledge of god. i recently went to a fusion music program. On the same stage, each musician was wholly independent and spontaneously playing his or her ‘music’. Each focused on his own different instrument, which was ‘played’ out in all the ways possible to! yet they incorporated each other and the combined effect was an enhanced and moment to moment new musical experience, for them all, adding to their fulfillment as musicians! god is not the musicians or their music but both together! Can we separate cricket from the players and the actions of bowling, batting and fielding? Those ‘processes’ are what cricket is! Creation is what God Is!

If God is so ‘perfect’ and All that is, then why the need for expansion?

In lay man terms perfection implies a finished state but at a deeper level it’s a dynamic ever evolving state of being! Perfection is not a grand finale or end point as we often consider it to be - but always open to the all potential within it - there is always more within it to tap and actualize- and paradoxically that is its perfection! Or perfection would soon turn stagnant and lose its perfection! Thus ‘God’ is ‘perfection’ forever experiencing its perfect ness eternally in infinitely unique ways. Thus god’s ‘expansion’ means more that in infinitely experiencing and being its perfect ness - it’s fulfillment of Itself is forever deepened and thereby expanded! Words and ideas only try and describe inner realities and can thus only hint at or point us in the right direction!  Thus use these words to activate your own subjective perceptions! Analogy often does this for me- it helps turn an abstract idea into some layman experience I can resonate to! So view God through the analogy of the very very best ‘experience’ in your life! And view this experience never becoming less or boring or stagnant, but only becoming infinitely and eternally better … view it as being experienced endlessly in infinite ways!!  Usually our minds cannot even conjure this! And this is the ‘expansion’ that God undergoes! Its like the process of an orgasm where every moment is perfect and yet leads to the next deeper fulfilled one!  Or take the analogy of  a single musical note: pure, beautiful, and whole in itself. However, it creates more notes, combines with them, and creates a melody, a song, and different songs too. So though ‘perfect’, a note chooses to infinitely create itself and combine with others, in fulfillment of its sound!

BUT why?? Why even this experiencing /expansion? Is GOD bored? Lacking?

GOD ‘creates’ out of experiencing It’s fulfillment, not boredom!! God means ‘Being’ All That Is so there can be no lack! We have this erroneous belief that any creation and experience must stem from something other than fulfillment! That wanting to BE must stem from lack of perfection! We confuse Gods experience with the distracting activities humans many a time undertake to escape boredom/ ennui or towards seeking perfection as they feel lacking! SO again, let the piano keys of these words hit the right notes within you to grasp Gods essence in day-to-day situations! Think in analogy of those persons who in our terms have ‘perfected’ their skills and continue to create and experience more of their skills/selves in the sheer fulfillment of their own being!

Think of our musicians, dancers, artists, mothers who reach their peak. They don’t stop at that! They infact then enjoy more their ‘being’ what they are! Experiencing their skills! They continue to dance, revel in their singing, and ever create new paintings. A mother infuses new caring ways of loving her children!
Even we, the common person: when we are feeling whole and complete what do we do?? Do we stop everything? Or indeed then experience and enjoy whatever it is that makes us feel so?! Indeed try to experience it in as many ways as we can! Lovers are a classic example! Wholly fulfilled with each other they revel in their togetherness, and create many fulfilling ways to enjoy it!

Think simple, everyday things, to get the feel of this: maybe a pretty young teen girl with everything she could need, every accessory, outfit, makeup, spare time to dress up and try on various smashing looks! She has ‘everything’ to experience her self in many ways! Which she does for the sheer pleasure of her being!

GOD thus will be best perceived through our daily analogies! And like GOD is ever new, we will discover more and more….
