WHY PAIN

IN REFERENCE TO SEPARATION AND ITS PAIN: Dear R, yr query can be answered at so many levels- so let me briefly jump into the deep end! If you viewed the act of love-making in minuscule separated moments- & not as one larger act of lovemaking- the thrust and motion would appear full of conflict- 2 people in wear and tear- almost abrasive- harsh and viyog in your language! But because we see/experience/know it in its entirety...we know it to be a beautiful process of lovemaking -yog- taking us to its climax. If we could similarly see our life events and indeed all our lives in entirety ...not as separated events or lives...then each phase of what you experience as virog would not even discernible ! They are nano seconds in the larger foray- of consciousness making love to Self! Each seeming virog- seeming only- is part of the love making! In that -as a step/precursor to yog - its not virog ...how can something that leads to love be other than love?

IN REFERENCE TO UPS AND DOWNS OF LIFE : Think…;-) Why would we go for a movie or read a book in which say…girl meets boy and they live happily ever after!!! Without the ups-downs …without seemingly beautiful and sad moments …without seemingly handsome and not so handsome heroes and rivals …there would be no story…no experience! Why would we play game in which you throw six and I throw six and we both reach the winning point? How could we have a cricket match without opponents and losing and winning!? The fun of the game is in the ups and downs! In the seeming ladders and seeming snakes;-))…the seeming opponents…seeming losing winning… whenever you don’t understand the cosmos…see it in your human ways! as above so below as below so above!

IN REFERENCE TO WHY PAIN? IS LIFE HELL? Dearest T, no experience that we as Consciousness choose/adopt/explore Self through....is a hell hole!! Indeed this very view point is the hell or binding...! It’s like an actor hating the role he plays, or a sportsman hating the sport he plays or a a child hating the game he plays with friends!

Whose desire is the origin of the material experience!? Consciousness/God/Spirit call it what you may chooses to experience itself through another mode... indeed for a tangible experience of the love joy creative that It is...and thus creates the 'material plane'; Consciousness/God/Spirit chooses to experience/know/explore it every nuance...and thus do we individuate! The word ‘pure’, is without the judgment it usually implies- & not better than ‘dense’! The only difference in pure & dense is the vibratory frequency at which I am exploring or experiencing Self! Thus yes, while pure does refer to our ‘finer’ vibrations -in the larger picture it is these finer aspects of self which choose the ‘denser’ experiences to add to their ‘finesse’! Thus All That Is, can paradoxically become –more!

The wheel of birth...samsara...is something we have willfully entered into...to then move out of! It’s like asking why am i playing a game of snakes and ladders when i am sitting comfy in my home!?? For the experience surely! The love and bonhomie of the game?

At first we have to be wholly involved in samsara, and forget Self...that is how we wholly enter the experience...how we play ...do justice... to the game of separation/ignorance! Then as we fulfill our role...or as consciousness fulfills what it chose to experience explore express through a us do we begin to remember....do we then establish as witness instead of only the participant...and even then we live and play out what we as consciousness choose to play out through a us...and when our role is full done...will we move out of samsara...get …move beyond personal id/ego self ...awakened....call it what you may...but the whole journey from source /consciousness to human and back is all pure and part of what we as consciousness choose! so why does the human realm become 'less' or bad or bondage!? Please read the articles on fb on desire...on the beginning of karma...this is a large subject...but IMHO an imp one, because unless ones stops judging/condemning/ despising humanity and all that makes up it experience ...unless one starts honoring it... there is no way out of the wheel!

Some passages dear T from older writings which touch upon the subject:

-Humanity and the material plane is not something ‘less than’ the spiritual- indeed it is spirit that chooses to experience and expand itself through the material plane! Let’s Rumi’s words take you beyond words! Read not these as expressions off a printed page but listen to them deep in your heart as he mystically murmurs over time and space: “Whenever you come across a beautiful object, it is God saying “Ah you found me”!” Allow this to awaken your soul memory and remember that ‘God’/Consciousness is the Unmanifest centre of all that is manifest! You cannot reject the physical world without rejecting its very core – spirit; and if you embrace everything around you as the divine choosing to experience Itself- you enter into true worship; into sacred and abundant living; into your life’s’ wholesome reason to be. And this to me is true spirituality – including and not excluding my daily life!! Concerned as it is with a joyous here and now and not only heavenly thereafter! Blending with and optimizing my humanity & its purposes rather than opposing, suffocating, suppressing it! Thereby deeply fulfilled, and in deep union with Self and all Selves around us, we but naturally become more and more palpably the God within

-In my humble opinion this message is also in the story of Adam and Eve! It was Consciousness as Shakti (Its Supreme yin aspect) choosing to enter into a creative material experience in deeper exploration and expression of Self! Thus it is Eve who tempts Adam (symbolizing Awareness/the supreme yang aspect). The apple she offers Adam/Shiva/awareness - is a symbol of the material plane (when u cut an apple it has a five pointed star like pattern in it) and the 5 pointed star represents the higher material plane- through which consciousness chooses to experience revel and fulfill the paradox of being more than it already is as All That Is!!! The poor maligned serpent did not tempt anyone-indeed it is that aspect of consciousness (all are aspects of the one/same consciousness: Adam/Eve /serpent) that offered to remain intact each of us while we played the game of separation, promising to rise within us as we moved back into awareness! And thus that’s the rising kundalini!! So think how confident we are as consciousness to enter an experience of this size!!! Think how much Love how much Love of Self that we can play this game for self to experience Self!

-Indeed the Adam Eve story is not a fall from grace into sin- its consciousness willfully descending /making its frequencies dense/ indeed choosing to SEEMINGLY forget and separate to play the game of coming back together again! IMHO this is the symbolism in the Adam and Eve story. Eve who tempts Adam is shakti/desire within consciousness… choosing a deeper exploration of Self ! -In case talk of higher dimensions and finer mediums of existence makes any of you think humanity is inferior in any way let us hasten to correct you. Briefly easy to understand terms- you need a certain proficiency of consciousness, and a deep commitment to its universal expansion to (should we say) ‘qualify” for this physical realm! Like the master programs many partake in your many specialized universities!! They do not in any way feel inferior and like wise your physical dimension is one of universal universities for Master hood!

IN REFERENCE TO WHY DID GOD CREATE PAIN? Dearest fb freinds- in response to so many of you asking me: “why pain? Why would we or God create pain??" Read this beyond the words… they are only pointers, symbols if you like, trying to express the inexpressible

We wonder why existence? Why life? Why pain and problems? But just think what ‘That/God/Conscioussness’ must be- to eternally and infinitesimally ‘will’ to be!   We cannot even conjure…and perhaps, perhaps catch but a glimpse when we view every beautiful scene, experience, relationship…we have ever experienced….! Perhaps in what we have found penultimate beauty -we may catch a glimpse why…! (And in the simpler context: when i hug my dog, i feel wow, how lovely to have become man and dog and enjoy the love so tangibly) And imagine as Shiva- as that ‘I’- ‘Awareness’- i am always experiencing each and every aspect of this beauty, glory, love, wisdom, power, creativity…(shakti) call it what you may…and in a multi focus! Together! At once! I am immersed in it- drunk in it….and so where is the ‘not good’-ugly –pain- problem…when I am so focused on all this splendor! Think in analogies, take it off the academic blackboard, think how the sexual act, is focused on the love, joy, bliss and union… not on the abrasion of ‘two’ bodies….!

And each of us- always retains that focus- of course in deep sleep- but even when awake we are connected to all of this ‘unconsciously’…. every moment …or we would not live for even a fraction of a moment! we truly ‘pulsate’ out of this in nano-split seconds (kshan) to enjoy life…but this joy and bliss is the bed from where we pulsate ‘out’ so to say…and into which we ‘rest’, kshan to kshan…for we carry this deeply encoded within us ,in our very dna!Think in analogy-when u are playing a game- snakes and ladders, opponents, the dice of destiny, choices on the board…you know you are divyaa and at home with beloveds…and in that knowingness and joy however much your focus may be on the ups and downs and challenges of the game ( or movie, or book) how ever deeply engrossed you may be in that ‘tension’ -a part of you knows who, where, what you are and thus enjoys thoroughly the whole process…   and like that we are we always always always poised in existence!

The trick is to become more and more aware! To expand the focus from game, book, movie…. life indeed… inwards to this continued joy, bliss, love, resting motion! To this knowing-(and that’s truly what we are doing through these classes and sessions and reading) and to that feeling (through meditations and life)! And thus as we expand our focus from the single pointed focus uni –focus of outer day to day life – to the vaster multi- focus inside…as we encompass more and more of what we truly are (meditation aids) we can remain simultaneously   in both (and more) focuses and life becomes a 24/7 joyous experience like the game, or movie or book! This multi focus is our true beingness, expanded ‘back’ to being Shiva- engrossed in viewing existence itself on his million computer screens…which he channels surfs moment to moment to enjoy all!

So yes, we have willfully chosen a single finely honed focus through what we call physical life-like when we choose to go to movie or game and ‘switch of” our ‘larger self’ so to say… so that we may get all out of that experience/book/game/movie! Otherwise it’s like going to movie and having your cell on: and your home, servants, kids ‘on’ through the movie…like having your laptop with you and doing office work during the movie…! No we choose to disconnect’ from them partially- to enjoy the movie wholly!? And so we do for each life! But just like this analogy - however much you may disconnect to focus on the movie-you always always always - know the rest of you! When the movie or book is very gory- however sad you may feel- because ‘you’ are ‘you’ in real life and not the movie however engrossing it may be… you do not wholly suffer in that! You do not think going to the movie with beloveds was a painful experience! What sorrow you will ask- that was only in the movie! And i thoroughly enjoyed the movie! And thus, if switch or more accurately expand your focus now to the real you … to the witness… inside who is drunk in the joy and bliss who he/she is…will you truly understand why creation! Why life! Why no pain and sorrow but the joy of beingness!

And you can’t say: I am in pain because I have the veils and have forgotten who i am and how silly, why this game? You have not forgotten-you cannot indeed! How do i say this, for there are no words: its part of the game to think you have forgotten! But you have not or you wouldn’t live for a fraction! On any realm! Leave alone the physical game! It’s like saying but what if i forgot in the movie, i am divyaa? What if I forgot in the game, we are best friends….you cant! You don’t! You designed it that way! Oh you may get swept away….but that’s part of why you chose that movie or book or game- ….! But you always know….! Right? And life is the game, movie, book of physical earth experience - a more intense movie or book than others, yes, but, which is why you chose it …for it is a blockbuster big hit best seller!! in others realms it may not be so ‘engrossing … you may not forget your real self quite so much… it may not be quite as intense either… and yes- that has its own joy- just like we need restful books or music programs too! but then we really want to sink our teeth into a big juicy one

And imagine the love, the will, the creative intelligence … imagine…how much… how much…to want to play this game… just to be each and everything i can!!! Imagine the confidence! Will you go for a movie if you were told you would forget self- aha- it would depend on yr confidence! Many will say yes what fun- like the roller-coaster rides….! but do you go to an amusement park for sorrow and pain or do you indeed know that challenge is part of its over all joy!

And further- when the game, ,book or amusement park event is over- the overall experience that is stored… retained is the fun, love, learning, camaraderie etc what you gained from the movie etc…not each scene or throw of the dice! the sum essence is only positive! And thus as Shiva: we experience no thing other than that fulfillment! No words, no words dearest friends can take us here so please use these words to take you beyond words to the essence.

Even your causal bodies - souls- don’t know pain… problems… there is no thing like that! For this part of you…only stores the sum total: the joy, bliss, love, wisdom…! Its like carrying the pain of a death scene (or the tension of your friend putting you in jail during monopoly) around with you after the game or movie! (and ha- when do you do this? only when you get so involved in the movie or game that you forget yourself …! and yet; yet you never wholly forget and die in the movie hall or murder your friend!!) And if you are carrying this pain around after the game or movie, what do you need to do? Only switch your focus back to the ‘real’ you- and there is no pain or anger left!! hey presto! what pain? for the death didn’t happen! For the friend didn’t put you into jail! it wasn’t! It wasn’t! It didn’t happen! It was only a beautiful experience with friends and popcorn and a dinner thereafter to extend the outing even more …!

And why did divyaa choose to go to a movie with death scenes and pain- because it isn’t- it isn’t ‘real’-it isn’t- it doesn’t matter-I know that! It is indeed encoded in my very dna!!! Intact within me! And so do i joyfully go for the very experience, confident as I am in the Love, joyfulness That I am… the same way we confidently gleefully go for the gruesome or sad drama movie!

PS: Going deeper- abstract: and I add today: that at an even deeper level- 2 opposites are required to make some experience happen. Physics calls it ‘conflict’ -when two opposites rub against each other and create a seeming third....the experience! Stones rubbed together create fire! A finger rubbed along your skin creates a caress or massage!? Now... the one god-consciousness - call it what you may- is inherently two of its aspects-the i am and the I am not- rubbing against each other -so that it (the one i)experiences itself- all that it is- the I am experience. in this understanding- the I am not - what we call pain- doesn’t exist...its only the agent to allow the I am! This is the role of naradmuni in our scriptures- he is not trouble maker- but the agent/symbol of 'conflict' that allows life…existence....and indeed god to experience Self!
